Hi, I'm Rebecca — owner of Spade & Soil

After a thirteen-year career in children's nursing, I made the decision to follow a different calling and transitioned into horticulture. The care, attention and patience I brought to nursing are the same qualities I now bring to every garden.

Spade & Soil grew enthusiastically from what began as a hobby, shared with friends and followers on Instagram as @itsbeckysgarden. That hobby has become a genuine passion, and one I'm proud to now share with others through my work.

In June 2026, I was awarded a Gold Medal at BBC Gardeners’ World Live for my showcase sensory garden ‘Sensed, Not Seen’ — designed for blind and visually impaired visitors and created in support of Support4Sight. It featured on the BBC Gardeners’ World programme on BBC Two and is something I’m incredibly proud of.
